IT IS WHAT IT IS
This program of diverse films features works from France, India, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Peru, and Serbia, in which characters take on an exploration of responsibility, duty, what is right and wrong, and that timeless question of “what is that which has to be done?”
Apocrifo – Dir: Fundora ernesto hernandez – NARRATIVE - 0:17:00 – MEXICO
A story where the festive city of Mexico is offered as background characters to draw psychological and human postures typical of a big city. A story where morality, religion and reason are manipulated for selfish personal gain by individuals who change their destiny with crafty opportunism.
Bull – King – Dir: Nicolai Aass – MUSIC VIDEO - 0:02:50 – NORWAY
KING is the film of a power hungry manipulator starring the iconic Norwegian actor Bjorn Sundquist. Directed by Nicolai Aass; KING is an interpretation of the greed that created the financial crisis. Among food fights, violence and decadent consumption, the rock band Bull delivers a powerful performance with the launch of their new album Autocrat. KING is the second music video in the Bull trilogy.
El Acompañante – Dir: Alvaro Delgado Aparicio – NARRATIVE - 0:19:40 – PERU
In the outskirts of Lima, a young prostitute tends to his father, a fallen-from-grace artisan. However, he feels that his efforts are never enough. The young man tries to break free but his dependence is stronger.
Double Shift – Dir: Amit Roy – EXPERIMENTAL - 0:03:56 - INDIA
The film follows a day in the life of our Muslim protagonist, Harshansraj, as he goes about squeezing out a living on the fringes of a large modern metropolis in India. Marginalized and living a hand to mouth existence amidst the squalor of the old city he has to set out each day and improvise and innovate to make his living. Improvise to the extent that his actions come in conflict with his religion. Which raises the larger question - isn't survival the larger religion for the man on the street in India? Larger than the religion he inherited and was conditioned to adopt without understanding its relevance.
Matriarche – Dir: Guillaume Pierret – NARRATIVE - 0:08:36 – FRANCE
Prison’s visiting room. Confrontation between a mother and her son, after this one has took part in a bloody robbery.
All My Presidents – Dir: Connor Hair – Narrative – 00:14:30 – USA

Aashpordha – Dir: Anirban Roy – NARRATIVE - 0:13:36 – INDIA
Revenge, as sweet as a little child. A dark comedy about rebellious 13-year-old and her orthodox dad. Set in a nosy neighborhood of Calcutta, India, this film will make your squirm and laugh at the same time.
